Superficial peel is also referred to as lunchtime peel, as they don’t take much of your time and after successful completion of the procedure patient can return to their daily activities right after. Superficial facial peel affects outer layer of skin rather than penetrating deep into your skin or dermis. They are made from alpha hydroxy(AHA) or beta hydroxy(BHA) as well as glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid.
Procedure is initiated by applying chemical peeling agent; on to patient skin with sponge or brush. There’s no need of any other topical numbing cream before procedure. Applied chemical peeling agent is left on for few minutes before it’s neutralised. This process exfoliates and stimulates skin. The procedure doesn’t hurt, but patient does feel slight tingling and stinging sensation. The treatment has almost zero downtime, so patient can go on to their scheduled life immediately. To achieve best possible result four to six rounds of treatment are recommended.
